The Great Orion Nebula (2025 edition)

One of my best images yet

The Great Orion Nebula - M42

First, I would like to thank you for your continued support to me in this journey, especially for those few who made the first orders from my website. Those are my elite supporters and I’ll always be grateful to them.

Based on the feedback I get on social media, I know how much the Orion Nebula means to a lot of you. This nebula is the first target that got me hooked into deep sky imaging. I took my first image of this jewel in March of 2017. Regardless of the result, I was stoked by it’s beauty. Since then, I’ve been learning more and advancing my techniques in mastering this image.

Yesterday, I captured my best one yet. I went to the dark sky of Williamsport, Tennessee, specifically, at the Water Valley Overlook. It was below freezing temperature (23 °F, -5 °C), yet I was still able to get out with my equipment and capture it. I was able to get phenomenal details thanks to the dark sky and the sophisticated equipment.

My biggest challenge was the cold weather. My fingers stopped working couple times while I was outside putting the equipment together and calibrating them. I went back to my car to get warmed up before going outside again. Other challenges include the danger of being in a distant dark location, carrying heavy gear, and making sure everything is in place and in working order. It took hours of processing but the result was worth all the time and effort.

The print went through a thorough process of testing to insure that the print will come exactly like the photo displayed on your screen, or better. There is a limited number of the prints that will be made, so grab yours before it’s gone!

Edition availability:

  • 28 x 35cm / 11" x 14", Edition of 50

  • 40 x 50cm / 16" x 20", Edition of 25

  • 70 x 100cm / 28" x 40", Edition of 10

Note: My prints will never go on sale. This is to maintain the value of the art, to be fair and to protect you and my customers who value the work and paid the full price of the print.
